Consultation has concluded
The new Walkerville Community Committee (WCC) – formerly known as the Women of Walkerville Committee (WOW) – has made changes to better reflect the diversity of the Town of Walkerville population.
The purpose of the recent review was to improve the Committee by creating a greater sense of inclusivity within the Council area, whilst also giving more back to the community.
The Committee includes three Elected Members and three Community Members, to ensure there is optimum involvement from a range of people within the community.
The Committee is currently looking to fill the vacancy for the Community Member positions through an Expressions of Interest (EOI) process.
Town of Walkerville residents or ratepayers, who have an interest in putting their thoughts and ideas into bettering the Walkerville community, are encouraged to apply.
If you think you have what it takes to be on the WCC, apply for a Community Member position by emailing your application through to walkerville@walkerville.sa.gov.au.

An explanation in no more than 300 words of why you wish to be a WCC Community Member. This could include what you would bring to the Committee and any relevant connections to the Township.
The EOI process will open at 9am on Monday 27 February 2023 and close at 5pm on Monday 20 March 2023.
The WCC will be involved in a range of activities, including:
Organising fundraising initiatives to provide events, activities and services that will benefit the Town of Walkerville community.
Identifying areas of enhancement and improvement for the area that will benefit the community.
Applying for grants, where appropriate.
Seeking corporate or private sponsorships to support the Committee’s activities.
Donating surplus funds to registered charities that are identified by the Committee (subject to Council approval).
Ensuring its activities reflect the aspirations of the Council’s Strategic Plan.
Engaging and liaising with members of the community, local schools and organisations for fundraising activities, where collaboration is in the best interest of the community wellbeing.
This Committee meets at least four times a calendar year at the Civic and Community Centre, which is located at 66 Walkerville Terrace, Gilberton.
