Consultation has concluded

A redevelopment of the Walkerville Bowling & Community Club will be undertaken to replace the current site with a modern and functional building, under new proposed plans by Council.

In June 2024, Council reached a significant milestone in the redevelopment plans and has selected a contractor for this important project - Horizon Construction Services.

Concept images of the proposed design are now available for the public to view (check out the documents tab in the right-hand side bar) and Council will be accepting any feedback the community may have on the proposed designs.

Council will work closely with Horizon Construction Services – a reputable firm dedicated to quality and a commitment to delivering projects that enrich communities – to complete the redevelopment. Their proposal not only aligns with Council's vision for revitalising the Walkerville Bowling & Community Club, but also promises to enhance this community space and its facilities for generations to come.

These concepts capture the essence of what Council aims to achieve – a modern, flexible and inclusive space that will cater to the diverse needs and interests of our community, both now and into the future.

If the community has any feedback to provide on the proposed Walkerville Bowling & Community Club concept designs, email walkerville@walkerville.sa.gov.au by 5pm on Sunday, 21 July 2024.

Following feedback from the community and Walkerville Bowling Club, Council’s aim is to make relevant updates and complete the full design, demolish the existing building in late 2024 and undertake construction, with the intention to open the building to the community by mid to late 2025.

The Walkerville Bowling & Community Club redevelopment has been co-funded by the Government of South Australia’s Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program.

You can view the message from the Mayor and see the flyover video of the design proposal below. Or to find further details on the project, head to the Town of Walkerville website.
