The Town of Walkerville is seeking feedback from the community to determine its satisfaction with the current composition and ward structure of the Township.

Council undertook a Representation Report to verify whether the community would benefit from an alteration to Council’s composition and/or ward structure.

The report proposes that the current Council composition and ward structure remain the same, which is:

  • the principal member of Council be a Mayor elected by the community;
  • the future elected body of Council continue to comprise the Mayor and eight area councillors; and
  • the Council area not be divided into wards.

Representation reviews are undertaken every eight years, and the Minister for Local Government specified that the Town of Walkerville review was required to undertake one.

Council endorsed the Representation Report for consultation at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Monday, 19 May 2025.

Public consultation on the Representative Report will run from 9am on Tuesday, 20 May 2025 until 5pm on Monday, 9 June 2025.
