Draft Public Health Plan

The Town of Walkerville (Council) has prepared a draft Public Health Plan (Plan) for the Council area. The Plan says what Council will do to support the community’s public health and wellbeing for the next 5 years.

Public health action is about promoting health and wellbeing, including mental health, preventing illness and injury and protecting communities from environmental risks.

Public health includes things such as:

• Infrastructure to support healthy and safe activity (open space, sports facilities, paths)
• Programs and information to support wellbeing, healthy living and mental health
• Immunisations and public hygiene
• Environmental health and food inspections
• Greening, stormwater and waste management

This survey will ask for your feedback on the actions in the draft Plan. Your feedback will help Council to finalise the Plan.

How to get involved:

• fill in our survey below;
• email us with your feedback at walkerville@walkerville.sa.gov.au;
• complete a hard copy survey, which is available at the Civic & Community Centre (hard copy surveys can be put into the consultation box in the foyer of the Civic & Community Centre) and The W: Walkerville Recreation Centre;
• request a hard copy survey to be sent to you via walkerville@walkerville.sa.gov.au or by calling 8342 7100; or
• provide a written submission by posting to:

The draft Public Health Plan consultation will run from 9am on Wednesday, 30 September 2026 to 5pm on Tuesday, 20 October 2026.

At the end of the consultation period, Council will consider all the feedback received and decide on the Public Health Plan.
