Consultation has concluded
Council has developed a new Waste Management Policy, which will set out the standard for Town of Walkerville's kerbside waste, recycling and green organics collection service.
The aim of this Policy is to provide guidance on the provision of an efficient, environmentally and financially sustainable kerbside collection for the community and assist with the minimisation of waste material directed to landfill from the Town of Walkerville.
The new Policy outlines the provision of service by Council, including around waste minimisation initiatives and waste collection requirements for residential properties, as well as collection standards for commercial properties, local schools and community/not-for-profit organisations.
Once implemented, this Policy will further clarify the Council's role in waste and recycling within the Township.
At the September Ordinary Meeting of Council, Council Members endorsed the draft Policy for consultation.
Consultation is open from 9am on Tuesday, 17 September 2024, until 5pm on Tuesday, 8 October 2024.
