The proposed Plan provides a roadmap for the long-term financial position of Council that will guide decision-making in areas such as sustainable services and responsible debt management levels, timing of major projects and revenue requirements, including annual rate rises.
For Council and the wider community, the LTFP is a key component of Council’s strategic management framework.
This document is also particularly important with Council working on its major projects, which will develop and change the community landscape and its spaces for residents.
The 10-year Long Term Financial Plan ensures that Council is undertaking its normal daily duties and community services, while also delivering major projects in a safe and financially sustainable way.
Council is also meeting legislative requirements under the Local Government Act 1999.
At the 25 May Special Council Meeting, Council Members endorsed the draft Long Term Financial Plan for consultation. The full Council report can be viewed on theTown of Walkerville website.
The draft Long Term Financial Plan consultation will run from 9am on Wednesday, 27 May 2026 until 5pm on Tuesday, 16 June 2026.
