Town of Walkerville has drafted a new Community Land Management Plan (CLMP), specifically for The W: Walkerville Recreation Centre, and Council invites you to share your feedback on this plan.

This plan proposes objectives for the management of the land and includes meaningful performance targets and methods for Council to measure its performance against.

CLMPs are a requirement of the Local Government Act 1999 (Section 196) for any Community Land that has been, or will be, developed, modified or adapted for community benefit and enjoyment, or is subject to a lease or licence agreement, in consultation with the community.

The Act specifies that CLMPs must:

  • identify the land to which it applies;
  • state the purpose for which it is held by the Council;
  • state the Council’s objectives, policies and proposals for the management of the land;
  • state performance targets and how the Council proposes to measure its performance against its objectives and performance targets (as far as is practicable); and
  • be consistent with other relevant official plans and policies about conservation, development and use of the land.

At the September Ordinary Meeting of Council, Council Members endorsed the draft Community Land Management Plan for consultation. You can view the full Council report on the Town of Walkerville website.

The draft Community Land Management Plan is open for consultation from 9am on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, to 5pm on Wednesday, 8 October 2025.
