Consultation has concluded

A new draft Behavioural Management Policy, which sets out standards for Council Members behaviour and conduct, is now open for community feedback.

A recent Behavioural Management Framework for Council Members was implemented on 17 November 2022 by the Local Government Association of South Australia, making it mandatory for all councils to prepare and adopt a Behavioural Management Policy in accordance with section 262B of the Local Government Act 1999.

This draft Behavioural Management Policy sets out the requirements for Council in regards to the management of behaviour of Council Members and the process for receipt and management of a complaint received regarding the conduct of a Council Member.

At the September Ordinary Meeting of Council, Elected Members endorsed the draft Policy for consultation. The full Council report can be viewed on the Council website here.

Hard copies of the draft Policy are available from the Civic and Community Centre – 66 Walkerville Terrace, Gilberton.
