Draft Asset Management Plans have been released for community consultation, reviewing two major Council asset classes: open space and buildings.

In accordance with the Local Government Act 1999, Council is required to review its Asset Management Plans a minimum of every four years to ensure the Township’s valuable services – including roads, footpaths, kerbs, carparks, buildings, stormwater, open spaces, and plants and equipment – are properly maintained to a high standard. This allows Council to deliver the required level of service to the community in the most cost-effective manner.

To ensure there is appropriate oversight of these assets, Council reviews sections of the Asset Management Plans to ensure these important assets are well-maintained and meeting community expectations.

This year’s draft Asset Management Plans for review cover the open space and building systems of Town of Walkerville.

At the September Ordinary Meeting of Council, Council Members endorsed the draft Asset Management Plans for consultation. You can view the full Council report on the Town of Walkerville website.

The draft Asset Management Plans are open for consultation from 9am on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, to 5pm on Tuesday, 7 October 2025.

The two draft Asset Management Plans are attached in the 'documents' sidebar.
