Council By-law No.6 consultation
Consultation has concluded
Town of Walkerville By-laws are established to ensure that Council can respond to issues within the local area and assist us in protecting the convenience, comfort and safety of our community.
Councils have the power to establish By-laws under the Local Government Act 1999.
Following a mandatory review, Council endorsed its revised By-laws on 17 October 2022, those By-laws being:
- By-law No. 1 – Permits and Penalties
- By-law No. 2 – Local Government Land
- By-law No. 3 – Roads
- By-law No. 4 – Moveable Signs
- By-law No. 5 – Dogs
After a review by the Legislative Review Council, there have been minor amendments made to Council’s By-laws 2, 3 and 5 – primarily to include the use of gender neutral language. The changes are outlined in a proposed amendment By-law (No.6), which is now out for consultation.
You can view the full Council report on the Town of Walkerville website.
The draft Council By-law No.6 is open for consultation from 9am on Tuesday 18 April 2023 and closes at 5pm on Tuesday 9 May 2023.
